My Top5 Aegyo

Ok, this is absolutely unrelated to Japan or lyric translations but lately I have trouble finding songs that I really like and that I wanna translate so I got bored ^^

Some of you may be well aware of what “aegyo” means, some others may have read this word for the first time.

Of course, Google can be a better help and you can search there to understand the meaning. But to put it simply, we can say it’s a cute attitude and appearence that can be often seen in the K-pop idol world but can be seen also among normal people.
This sort of cuteness is supposed to make persons (both guys and girls) absolutely adorable and liked a lot independently of their beauty.
An aegyo person can be more attractive than other persons who are more beautiful.

If all what I said sounds kinda weird to you, don’t worry.. I guess it’s pretty normal for western people to find it strange.
Going back to Japan for a moment… aegyo is basically what the “kawaii” attitude is in Japan. Many japanese idols are like that, but there are also idols who don’t… so yeah.. it can help but it’s not a must ^^

When it comes to me, I am very very weak to cuteness 😀 Also in my daily life, a cute girl can easily win over a sexier one. I can’t help it 🙂

If this blog is about Japan, why I don’t rank the most kawaii idols?? Well, cause japanese kawaii idols often have also a teeny/childish appearence that is a bit “too much” for an old man like me.. while korean idols keep a more adult and sexier appearence even when they are “aegyo” 😀

I have already written too much, let’s cut it out and let’s start with this absolutely useless and uninteresting ranking!! 😀

5th position: Girls’ Generation’s Yoona

Girls’ Generation is one of the first korean group I got to know and Yoona was more likely the first strong aegyo I ever met. His cuteness made her stand out in a big group like SNSD and she immediately got one of my favourite since Gee ^^

4th position: Apink’s Park Chorong

I was listening to Apink’s songs and what really got me, before her appearence, was her voice. It’s probably the cutest voice in the whole korean idol world ^^
If the voice isn’t enough, she also has an absolutely cute appearence 🙂

3rd position: AOA’s Mina

I got to know her only recently and honestly she didn’t catch my attention immediately. AOA is full of pretty and sexy girls so it’s not easy to stand out. But then I started to like her more and more and now she is one of my favourites. She is probably a bit too skinny, but she is absolutely gorgeous and when she wears sexy outfits, she is able to show a great sex appeal with her little doll-like body 😉

2nd position: Park Boram

When it comes to Park Boram, talking about her aegyo only is simply limiting.
In terms of beauty, she is probably the one I like the most and she definitely has a lot of sex appeal 🙂 I guess this picture is a mix of all what I said and it’s totally explicative ^^

1st position: Sulli

I can’t help it, she is by far the n.1! Since when I saw her in f(x)’s MV Pinocchio I started to love her ^^
It’s difficult to explain why.. there are girls who are prettier, girls who are sexier and blablabla. But if I have to pick one.. I’d always pick her 🙂
I guess this is the perfect explanation of what aegyo is. You don’t even know why but you find someone absolutely attractive 🙂
And then, well, when she smiles her eyes remind me of the eyes of a person I deeply loved.. maybe this helps to make her the number one too 🙂
